If you go to state U's like I did (VA) and major in something employable like I did (accounting & finance) then your education might be valuable but certainly won't hurt you. If you go private or major in fields that don't correlate to employment at a premium wage then you have wasted time and maybe buried yourself under a mountain of debt which may bury you financially for a very long time.
